Michaela McInnis / PT, DPT
Michaela was born and raised in Gonzales, graduating from East Ascension High School in 2018, where she was an active member of the soccer, volleyball, and gymnastics teams. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Human Movement Science from LSU, followed by her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2025. During her doctoral studies, she was honored with the George Hampton Award for Clinical Excellence. Michaela first joined Bourgeois Physical Therapy during her final clinical rotation and officially became part of the team as a staff physical therapist shortly after graduation. Outside the clinic, Michaela enjoys an active lifestyle—spending time with her family, working out, playing beach volleyball, and exploring new restaurants. She and her husband, Nick, were married in January 2025 and live in Gonzales with their Labrador, Scar. Michaela loves showing people what their bodies are capable of and helping people return to the activities that bring them purpose and joy. What she values most about Bourgeois Physical Therapy is its energetic, easygoing atmosphere and the genuine care shown to every patient.
